About Ava’s Path
What is Ava’s Path?
Ava’s Path is a nonprofit parent education and support organization that provides disability-informed co-parenting education and resources for families navigating separation, divorce, and parenting challenges involving children with learning, developmental, medical, or emotional needs.
Who is Ava’s Path designed for?
Ava’s Path is designed for a wide range of adults supporting children, including:
- Parents going through divorce or separation
- Co-parents, caregivers, and family members, including grandparents or guardians
- Families navigating school, medical, and legal systems
- Professionals supporting these families, such as attorneys, therapists, and educators
Is Ava’s Path only for families of children with diagnosed disabilities?
No. Many families participate with or without a formal diagnosis. The program supports children who may experience learning differences, anxiety, ADHD, autism, language disorders, medical needs, mental health conditions, or other situations where more structured support may be helpful.
Are courses available in Spanish?
Yes. Ava’s Path offers a Spanish-language version of the Agility Parent Education Stabilization course. The Spanish course satisfies the same Florida court and DCF requirements as the English versions and is accepted by courts in the same manner.
Please enroll in the language version you plan to complete, since enrollments cannot be switched after registration.
What makes Ava’s Path different from traditional parenting courses?
Traditional courses are often broad and general. Ava’s Path uses a universal, disability-informed approach that is evidence-based, designed for a wide range of learners and families, focused on real-world systems such as schools, therapies, and courts, and structured to reduce conflict while improving outcomes for children with additional needs.
Court Compliance & Certificates
Is Ava’s Path court-approved?
Yes. Ava’s Path is approved by the Florida Department of Children and Families (DCF) and listed on the DCF provider directory. Ava’s Path courses satisfy the parent education requirement under Florida law and are accepted by courts throughout Florida.
Is this course required by the court?
Florida law requires completion of a parent education course in cases involving minor children under § 61.21, Florida Statutes.
Florida law also allows courts to require a disability-informed parenting course when a child has a disability, developmental condition, or additional needs. Ava’s Path satisfies both the general parent education requirement and the disability-informed course requirement under Florida law.
Do both parents have to take the course?
Yes. Each parent must register individually and receive their own certificate unless the court gives different instructions.
How do I submit my certificate to the court?
You are responsible for downloading and submitting your certificate to the court, your attorney, or your mediator if required. Ava’s Path does not file certificates with the court and does not send them to third parties.
What name will appear on my certificate?
Your certificate is issued exactly as your name is entered at registration. Please use your full legal name.
If you enroll using Apple ID or another autofill option, make sure your full legal name is visible and entered correctly before completing registration. Some settings may default to a nickname, initials, or a private relay name, and that information will carry over to your certificate.
Name changes cannot be processed after enrollment, so please confirm accuracy before you complete registration.
Who issues my certificate?
Your certificate is issued by Ava’s Path, the approved provider. “Agility Parent Education and Family Stabilization Course” is the official course name listed with the Florida Department of Children and Families (DCF). Certificates reflect Ava’s Path as the provider and the Agility course name for DCF and court compliance.

Enrollment & Access
How do I enroll?
You can enroll directly through the website by selecting your course and completing registration. Email verification is required at the time of enrollment.
Please register using your correct legal name exactly as it should appear on your certificate of completion, since this document may be submitted to the court.
If you enroll using Apple ID, make sure your full legal name is visible and entered correctly before completing registration. Apple ID settings may default to a nickname, initials, or a private relay name, and that information will carry over to your certificate.
The name entered at registration will appear exactly as submitted on the certificate of completion. Ava’s Path does not modify participant names, reissue certificates, or verify name changes after enrollment. Please confirm accuracy before registration is complete.
If I donated by mistake, am I registered for the course?
No. Donations do not enroll participants in a course and do not generate a certificate of completion. Course registration must be completed separately through the course registration page.
How much does it cost?
Pricing varies based on course type and available scholarship support.
Are scholarships available?
Ava’s Path works to help make courses accessible for families in need. Limited scholarships or sponsored seats may be available depending on current funding.
What if I selected the wrong course? Are refunds available?
All Ava’s Path courses are approved for court compliance and are listed on the Florida Department of Children and Families (DCF) provider directory. Because they meet the same statutory and educational requirements, there is generally no “wrong course” selection, and course fees are non-refundable once access has been granted.
The disability-informed course includes the full core curriculum required for court compliance, along with additional information addressing the needs of children who may have anxiety, ADHD, learning differences, or other support needs. Families without these concerns may still take this course and remain fully compliant with court requirements.
As a nonprofit supported in part by volunteers, Ava’s Path does not have the capacity to process refunds. In some situations, a credit toward a future class may be offered at Ava’s Path’s discretion.
How long do I have access after enrolling?
Florida courts require completion within a specified timeframe, and participants are responsible for meeting their own deadlines. Ava’s Path cannot extend court-ordered timelines.
